Product Overview
A rider sits the pack rather than a saddle, staff held across the body, robe falling over the camel's shoulder. The load is modelled the way it is actually carried: bags hung fore and aft, water skins tied off, the blanket wrapped and pinned, the halter rope trailing loose off the head. It reads as a journey in progress.
That is a stronger proposition than a static animal on a plinth. Hospitality and cultural projects buy atmosphere, and this piece supplies it — the composition gives a lobby, a reception wall or a library shelf an implied distance and a direction of travel.
Craftsmanship
Cast brass, lost-wax process. Cast in sections and joined by hand, walls around 3 mm — real weight in the hand, no resin filler, no plating.
Hand-chased after casting. The camel's fleece, the fall of the rider's robe, the seams of the pack bags. Detail that holds up under handling and under a camera.
Hand-applied colour, sealed. Both standard finishes are laid by hand in layers and sealed, so colour sits in the metal rather than on top of it.
Maintenance is a dry cloth. No polish, no re-coating.
Two standard finishes
Antique brown with gold. Warm brown ground, polished high points, deep green blanket with gold tassels. The natural choice for traditional and classic interiors, and the finish that photographs warmest under incandescent or hotel lighting.
Verdigris. A cool blue-green patina carried across the whole figure, the rider's robe reading almost as aged bronze. Sits better in contemporary and gallery settings, and alongside concrete, stone and dark timber.
Both finishes can be adjusted, and any custom patina can be matched to a supplied sample or to a brand colour.
Design notes
A loaded camel, not an empty one. Bags fore and aft, water skins tied off, blanket wrapped and pinned — the pack is what carries the narrative.
The rider sits the pack. Cross-legged, staff across the body — a caravan leader's posture, not a tourist's perch.
Loose lead rope. Cast as a real loop that hangs off the head rather than a moulded line, so the silhouette stays open.
Sculpted ground base. The textured ground is modelled into the base; the piece sits flat without a plinth.

Sample first. A sample is produced and signed off before any bulk commitment, so the piece itself is agreed before the run starts.
Commercial terms. Payment schedule, Incoterm and lead time are set out in your quotation, where they can be matched to the project, the quantity and the delivery point.
Documentation. Commercial invoice and packing list for customs entry. Import clearance, duties and destination taxes remain the buyer's responsibility. A declaration from our foundry on the alloy used is issued with your order.
FAQ
What is the camel and rider cast in?
Cast brass, made by the lost-wax process — not resin with a metal coating. Walls are around 3 mm, and the sections are joined by hand.
Is it bronze or brass?
The alloy is brass. The bronze colour is a surface finish: the piece is heated and coloured by hand with a hot patina, the traditional way bronze tone is produced in this trade. The full alloy is stated in the declaration from our foundry that is issued with your order.
Which finish should I choose?
Antique brown with gold for traditional interiors and warmer lighting; verdigris for contemporary, gallery and architectural settings. Both are standard finishes, and a custom patina can be matched to a sample or a brand colour.
Can the rider be modelled on a specific person?
Yes. We work from photographs for portrait likeness, and the wax can be signed off before casting so the face is agreed before the bronze is poured. Portrait modelling is quoted as a separate item.
Can it be scaled up for an outdoor monument?
Yes. The model scales, and exterior versions are cast with wall thickness and anchoring suited to the site. Send the location and target height for a quotation.
What size does it come in?
Size is part of the brief. The model can be scaled up or down and the base sized to match, so the piece fits the console, atrium or plinth it is made for. Send the space and the target height and we will propose proportions with your quotation.
What is the minimum order quantity, and how does it ship?
Samples can be ordered ahead of any bulk commitment; bulk quantities and the applicable minimum are confirmed with your quotation. Foam-lined export carton at tabletop sizes, fitted wooden crate for larger or multi-piece orders, with consolidated container loading available.
