Product Overview
A camel stands, fitted with a jewelled saddle blanket. On the same ground, a herdsman sits with his robe folded around him and his head lowered, a bundle set down beside him. The pairing turns a static animal figure into a scene, and a scene is what holds a lobby, a reception desk or a museum vitrine.
The camel is modelled with a shaggy neck and working tack. The halter and lead rope are cast as a true loop that hangs naturally off the head — not a stiff, moulded line. The saddle blanket is the colour anchor of the whole piece: red, teal and gold bands drawn together by a row of hand-set tassels that read clearly from across a room.
Nothing in the composition is decorative filler. The seated figure gives scale, the bundle gives narrative, and the textured ground lets the piece sit flat without a plinth.
Craftsmanship
- Cast brass, lost-wax process. Cast in sections and joined by hand, with walls around 3 mm — real weight in the hand, no resin filler, no plating.
- Hand-chased after casting. The neck fleece, the folds of the robe, the gravel in the ground base. This is the work that separates a bronze from a resin look-alike, and it is the reason the piece survives handling and photography.
- Colour applied by hand, in layers, then sealed. The blanket bands are laid in individually, so no two pieces are identical in the way a decal would be.
- Maintenance is a dry cloth. A sealed patina needs no polish and no lacquer touch-up.
- Working tack. The halter and lead rope are modelled on real camel tack and hang loose, keeping the neckline clean and legible at a distance.
- Sculpted ground base. Gravel, a rolled bundle, the edge of the ground — all modelled into the base. The piece sits flat with no separate plinth.
- Reads at three distances. The silhouette carries at 10 metres; the blanket colour holds at 2 metres; the chased detail rewards a close look on a console.

What is the camel statue cast in?
Cast brass, made by the lost-wax process — not resin with a metal coating. Walls are around 3 mm, and the sections are joined by hand.
Is it bronze or brass?
The alloy is brass. The bronze colour is a surface finish: the piece is heated and coloured by hand with a hot patina, the traditional way bronze tone is produced in this trade. The full alloy is stated in the declaration from our foundry that is issued with your order.
Can it be made larger for a lobby or outdoor installation?
Yes. The model scales up and can be cast for exterior use with wall thickness and anchoring suited to the site. Send the location and target height and we will quote it.
Can the saddle blanket colours be changed?
Yes. The blanket is hand-painted, so it can be re-coloured to a brand or interior palette, or reduced to a single-tone patina.
What is the minimum order quantity?
One piece for a sample. Bulk pricing applies from small production runs upward; the exact MOQ is confirmed with your quotation.
How is it packed for export?
